Olivier Busolini
Group Chief Information Security Officer bei Mashreq Bank

Olivier Busolini has over 25 years of experience in IT security, working in different industries and countries, both in the private and public sectors, in France, the UK, Switzerland and the UAE.

He has gained leadership skills in IT and Information Security risk, (cyber)security, privacy and resilience management, as part of operational risks, data governance and digital business activities, and has adapted to various business environments.

Olivier began his career as an Officer in the French Ministry of Defence for 15 years, where he founded the first Red Team of the French National Information Security Agency in 2001. He then worked as an information security consultant for several years, including in a Big4 firm, and served as CISO for traditional and innovative Swiss banks for over 13 years.

He is currently continuing his journey in the United Arab Emirates as Group CISO for Mashreq Bank.

His main focus is to enable the business to take the necessary risks to grow the bank, within the risk tolerance of the management and in a cost effective manner.

The first 100 days as a CISO are decisive; not because of tools or controls, but because they determine trust, credibility, and long‑term influence.

In this interactive masterclass, Olivier Busolini shares hard‑earned lessons from his own CISO journey, focusing on what really matters when stepping into the role for the first time. Participants learn how to read organizational culture, build trust with executives, and set the foundations for strategic impact, without overpromising or moving too fast.

Rather than frameworks or technical deep dives, this session centers on leadership, judgment, and decision‑making in the early phase: How to listen before acting, how to prioritize wisely, and how to position security as a credible business partner from day one.

This masterclass is designed for CISOs who want to get the first 100 days right so everything that follows becomes possible.

After the session, participants will understand what really matters in the first 100 days as a CISO. They will know how to build trust with executives and peers, and be able to read organizational culture and power structures. They will be able to avoid common early mistakes that undermine credibility and leave with a clear mental model.

Ideal for:

  • Newly appointed CISOs in their first role
  • CISOs within their first 1 - 2 years, looking to recalibrate their approach
  • Senior security leaders transitioning into executive or board‑level responsibility
  • Heads of Information Security preparing for a future CISO role
  • CISOs operating in regulated, complex, or international organizations
