Forensic Readiness: Preparing Your Organization for the Inevitable
As cyber incidents grow in speed and complexity, organizations must be prepared not only to respond, but to investigate. This talk introduces the core principles of IT‑Forensic Readiness, explaining why forensic preparedness is a critical, yet often overlooked, foundation of modern cybersecurity governance.
In an accessible and practical way, the session outlines what digital evidence is, how it is created, and which organizational capabilities are needed to ensure that investigations can be carried out efficiently and in compliance with GDPR, BSIG/NIS‑2, GoBD, GeschGehG, and ISO/IEC 27001 requirements. Using relatable examples and small demonstration sequences, the talk shows how forensic readiness directly influences incident handling, regulatory reporting, and strategic resilience.
Participants leave with a clear understanding of what their organization must have in place before an incident occurs, from logging and data retention to roles, workflows, and documentation, and why forensic readiness is one of the most cost‑effective ways to strengthen security operations and reduce risk.
